Web Browser - older system

Post by toomanyquestions » Sun Feb 14, 2010 3:00 pm

What's the best browser (speed & functionality) to run on Linux mint (elyssa/512ram)? Aside from general surfing, I watch hulu/fancast occasionally.

You might try Epiphany, it might be a little lighter than Firefox and still have flash support. Worth a try. :)

the chromium browser has been reported to be lighter on systems, try to avoid opening lots of tabs though.

Why not give Swiftfox a try? It is a optimised release of the latest Firefox and has it's own repository. Being Firefox based all of your existing addons will be compatible. It seems to be faster and sit in less ram that Firefox. It works very well on my 512mb netbook. Find out more here....
