[Solved] Changing themes (or theme managers) on KDE 4.4?

Just installed Linux Mint KDE 8.

And I detest all the wIndows themes that KDE offers - all of it, to me, feels like dressed up Windows 3.0. I also detest the blue colors (liked minty green), and KDE's battleship gray is really getting me down. But that's just me.

I'd love to get some Aero Themes installed. Tried installing Compiz and Emerald (as with Gnome), then ran sudo replace --compiz (I think) and that was a complete disaster. I also love transparent panels.

Can anyone help?

OK, for the next beginner who needs to figure this out (since this forum is otherwise fairly dead): :|

Synaptic Packages Manger:

Install Fusion-Icon (Compiz) (& this loaded related packages automatically)
Install Compiz Settings Manager
Install Emerald

Run Fusion-Icon and choose the appropriate Window Manager and Window Decorator.

Then you can go to a site like KDE Look.org (For Glass and Aero Themes):

http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/KD ... ent=117909

Download the themes (extract if necessary) and run Emerald. Import the Theme into Emerald.

Then, for the bottom panel:

Right click on your desktop and choose from Desktop Themes (you will probably have to download the glassy themes).
