Emulating

Post by nate20 »

I am new to linux; VERY new. I have a macbook at the minute but am going to be making a new computer in the coming months...

On mac i have you control: desktop because i love the cube effect, However I want the cube linux has, it is amazing!

The computer ill be making is an i7, 4GB RAM HD graphics ect. Pretty alright...

Is it at all possible to run linux as the main program, but have windows and snow leopard running on some sort of emulator like virtual machine or VMware?

More context/data was needed" hardware, software
Such as which motherboard would you be using, at which point, you might be able to search on the Internet for motherboard + Linux, or pick a distribution

Sure if the Linux distribution works well

--also try running Linux from a CD first (live..) to act as a general hardware check

VirtualBox is great. I'm new to Mint myself but have had photoshop cs3 running in vbox with no significant performance hit.
