What is Mint?

Post by Prince of Maine » Mon Aug 20, 2007 5:46 am

I installed Mint on Friday and after this weekend I'm pretty confused. I can't recognize any differences between Mint and Kubuntu. O.K., Mint comes out with another Iconset and Style and also with some codecs, but after some apt-get in Kubuntu, I have the style and the codecs, too.

What is the Mint-repo for? Is it a kind of backport, delivering new packages between the Ubuntu-releases? What do Mint want to make better?

(Excuse my mistakes. I'm not a native speaker.)

The mint-repos is for software maintained by the mint-team, like mintfile, mintdisk and such and it's updates.
