You will notice * hplip* in the synaptic pkgmgr listing. It is there for a reason. HP is Linux friendly and provides the software printer management package. There are also other brands which provide drivers.

Opening downloaded files
Does anyone know how to install a downloaded file ? i've downloaded VUZE but dont know how to install it on my mint .

I just bought the HP 4500 All-In-One printer and it works great. Stick to HP!
