wifi ralink chipsets

Post by creepingmee » Wed Oct 31, 2007 4:27 am

Clem,

Fantastic release.

There isn't a version of ubuntu that handles the ralink rt2400, rt2500, rt2570,rt61, and rt73 chipsets for usb wifi.

Using ndiswrapper for the rt73 causes problems with constant network dropping.

There is a free, open driver set for these popular chipsets that works great when I compile and install it, however I have to kill the network manager and
set it up manually. It would be great to get these working in mintwifi out of the box.

The open source drivers can be found at:

Hope you can include these someday.

Thanks, and keep up the great work! I'm telling everyone I know to use linux mint!!
