apt-get update/Synaptic Error

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section and I'm sorry if this had been discussed already.

I'm using Linux Mint 9 LXDE. Fresh install, 2-3 days ago.

Long story short, I have had this issue with many other distributions (which are based on Debian) and I solved it by following this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1152619

To be more specific, I fixed it using this:

sudo apt-get update -o Acquire::http::No-Cache=True
if not then with:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update -o Acquire::BrokenProxy=true
However, with Linux Mint 9 LXDE, I could not.

All of the errors have to do with the archive.canonical.com repositories in your Software Sources (more than one?) . I am in Mint 9 Xfce and mine (only one repo) is shown below. I'm not sure if you have the Software Sources program installed in Lxde, but it is available for install through Synaptic Package Manager as python-software-properties
I suggest that you edit/change your's to look like mine . . . good luck.
