Installing XFCE into the main edition

Postby mint-fresh » Thu Nov 29, 2007 10:33 pm

I want to install XFCE into the main edition (which I currently have installed) for its lighter desktop. Would it work if I did

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
or would that pull in some things that would make Mint just become like Xubuntu? Should I install the independent packages? If so, what would they be?

That would be to much :)
What you could do is install xfce4 that would be better. Thats just xfce I think your alternative adds (much?) more

Ok I have gotten XFCE to work now. It's just that for some reason it also pulled in Audacious.....
I did this:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install xfce4*

Audacious may be part of it - haven't checked though
