xfce4 problem

xfce4 problem

i am using Linux mint debian xfce edition. every program i start is confined to the top & the window buttons are gone.
and i cant move the windows..i have tried kde & gnome no problem with them. i also have reinstalled xfce but the problem is still there..what can i do to fix this?

Sounds like several things might be going on. To move a window hold down the Alt button and grab/move with the left button of your mouse. Check your Applications>Settings>Display for the proper Resolution. You can get to this with a right click on the desktop if you cannot see the Panel. For the window buttons the settings is in Applications>Settings>Window Manager, I prefer Wallis, to each his own.

the window buttons are gone.
Open a terminal and type

Code: Select all

xfwm4 --replace &
It should solve your problem
