Selective install

Post by dboyd »

How can I run an install from a live cd and be able to select my software choices so I don't have to spend hours deleting software? Thanks for any help.

And if you prefer the Ubuntu-based Mint, there is a minimal Ubuntu installation CD as well!

load my choice of software

Any ideas on how to get to load your own choices from the Live DVD instead of Mint just loading everything in sight?

Without exactly knowing what you mean - no. You boot to the LiveDVD desktop and have the options to try out what's there or install.
What do you mean by "load your own choices" of software?

EDIT: Merged threads together since they are asking the same question... please don't double/cross post.

What I meant, is that after running the install, I have a lot of programs that I do not wish to have on my system. Therefore, I have to spend a lot of time uninstalling software.

If this is not possible from the live cd, is there another download where I can get the Debian base and minimal software applications?

Sounds like you want Debian Net-install.
