Something to try ?
You may need to be logged into your nephew's account. Open the File Manager, right click one of those folders or drives, and choose to open as administrator (root). After you enter the sudo password a new admin window should open, now you will have the authority to use the right-click -> properties -> permissions and add the new user and wanted permissions.
