I just downloaded Linux Mint 12 (32-bit CD, no CODECS version). I am just a beginner with Linux...
I would like to install Linux Mint 12 on a USB flash drive. The drive's specs are:
* Manufacturer: HP
* Capacity: 32GB
* Model: P-FD32GHP255-EF, USB 2.0
The first question that I have is: Will Linux Mint 12 install on a 32GB flash drive?
Assuming that it does, I would like to install Mint in such a way that I can launch it from within Microsoft Windows (32- or 64-bit versions!!) without having to modify anything with the PC that I am using. (Long story that I'll spare you the details...) In other words: I do not want to modify the BIOS's booting sequence of the computer; I do not want to install Windows programs such as VMWare to run Linux within Windows; I do not want anything to be installed/changed with the computer that I am using!!
Is this even possible?

Lots of room. I have it on a 4GB stick with almost 3GB of free space left.tb75252 wrote:I just downloaded Linux Mint 12 (32-bit CD, no CODECS version). I am just a beginner with Linux...
