Display Dimming even while active

Post by abtygwyn » Wed Nov 30, 2011 10:36 am

I'm running LMDE and successfully installed etc but when I'm watching a movie I still periodically need to move the cursor to stop the display dimming.
If run the obvious checks under battery perferences but the settings there do not appear to make any difference to the outcome.

Has anybody come across this or a similar problem and if so, any ideas as to how to cure it.

I'm running Mint 9 Main edition so you may have to adapt some of this but...

Check settings at Control Center > Screensaver

If everything looks good, click Power Management button (bottom center) and check the settings there - specifically under "On AC Power > Display > uncheck Dim display when idle" It that doesn't work, try checking the "Regard the computer idle after" slider on the main Screensaver page - set to max.
