Disabling Popups Upon Connecting External Devices

Post by void-pointer »

Hello everyone,

How would I disable the popups that spring up every time I connect my iPhone or external HD?
Banshee always pops up when I plug in my iPhone, and after uninstalling it, VLC automatically
starts trying to play the files on the root directory of my iPhone. Along with this, I get a system
notification at the bottom of my screen asking whether I would like to view the files on my iPhone
or external HD. I did not see a checkbox on any of these windows that would promise to suppress
these dialogues in the future (as in Ubuntu), and browsing the system settings and Googling around
for similar issues did not help.

Thank you very much!

If you're using Mint 12, see 1l in this thread

For those who are interested, one can change this by going to System Settings -> Removable Media.
