I must have changed something i shouldn't have. Now when i select a folder or bring up my terminal I cant move it's window around the desktop. How do I correct this?

Since there have been no replies i'll add a little more info. I was messing around with the CompizConfig settings in the Control Center. If anyone can help please let me know how I can change my settings so that my Linux windows will move around my desktop.

Oh I know what happened...I think you messed up Metacity and not Compiz. From what I understand, Metacity is the window manager (responsible for the title bar, minimize, maximise, and minimise buttons); Compiz is a compositor (responsible for special effects and fancy stuff).

Can you tell me what happens when you put this command in the terminal? Does the "title bar" come back?

Code: Select all

metacity --replace
Or try this as well also if the above doesn't work

Code: Select all

compiz --replace
Thanks. Lemme know how it goes!
