Ubuntu Tweak

Post by everready »

Linux is a terrific OS the applications it offers boggles my mind.. one of these extras called Ubuntu Tweak is telling me something isn't quite right its called managing templates.. its located on the left side of the window in a column that's called "Personal" herein lies my problem.. :?

The Templates path is incorrect!

You see its telling me that the Templates path is incorrect, the word "Templates" is missing at the end of the string. I want to add it but i don't see a way to edit it, are you familiar with Ubuntu Tweak?

Templates/home/username/

When it should read like the others.. for instance..

"Video/home/username/Video"

"Documents/home/username/Documents"

What would you suggest?

* If this post would be better off in a different forum could someone please direct me*

Tia guys.. :D

Your advice is perfect.. as you can see i was able to edit that line "but" how do i save it? not knowing what to do with the information has me stumped, you see, I'm as green as they come, newbie green.. :?

GNU nano 2.2.6 File: /home/username/.config/user-dirs.dirs Modified

# This file is written by xdg-user-dirs-update
# If you want to change or add directories, just edit the line you're
# interested in. All local changes will be retained on the next run
# Format is XDG_xxx_DIR="$HOME/yyy", where yyy is a shell-escaped
# homedir-relative path, or XDG_xxx_DIR="/yyy", where /yyy is an
# absolute path. No other format is supported.
#
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop"
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR="$HOME/Downloads"
XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/Templates"
XDG_PUBLICSHARE_DIR="$HOME/Public"
XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR="$HOME/Documents"
XDG_MUSIC_DIR="$HOME/Music"
XDG_PICTURES_DIR="$HOME/Pictures"
XDG_VIDEOS_DIR="$HOME/Videos"

Tia my friend, this information is great, but I'm still stuck in a Windows mentality where everything is done more or less automatically..

Did you read the hint at the bottom of the editor? Press Ctrl+X, then Y when asked to save changes. Done.
