C compiler error

Postby bfgxcreed » Fri Feb 08, 2008 2:02 am

I am getting this error a LOT in every program i try to ./configure, make, make test, and make install. It returns an error that says "C compiler cannot create exeutables". see pic below.

I am going to guess that this is a fairly simple fix, I am just too new to the linux scene to figure it out. I have tried to look up the problem on the net and even the book I own, but i cant find the solution. The log file is much too long to post here, if you need the file, or a snippet, that can be arranged.

Thanks in advance

It could help installing libc6-dev from Synaptic
Also possibly LDFLAGS should be empty. If not try " unset LDFLAGS " in a terminal - no guarantees given (the worst that could happen is that you have to reboot)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
