Anyone use Webex with Java JVM?

Post by Miami592 »

Does anyone use webex with Linux Mint?

I'm trying to view presentations and I get a JVM error. I have the open source version that comes with Mint but Webex says I need the real Java.

I tried doing what the java website said but to no avail.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You could try what's mentioned here: http://www.duinsoft.nl/packages.php?t=en

No idea whether that setup works with webex though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to give it a try.

I'll let you know what happens.

Until I found the right plug-in, I kept removing ~/.webex before I used it.

Thanks Habitual. Do you happen to recall what the "Right Plug-in" was?

Sorry no, and the Webex folks told me once too.
I "think" I removed jdk in favor of the java-1.6.0-sun system package (I am on OpenSUSE 11.4)
but I'm pretty sure that I had the issue on my previous LM10/32 install too.

I only meant my tip to help you use it until you find the correct plugin.
Stick around, someone will have the answer.
