Browsers keep randomly closing
As the title says my web browsers keep randomly closing. I am using linux mint 17.1. I had to reinstall because my menus and fonts where messing up. They kept turning into this blank white squares. So after re installing linux mint 17.1 again my browsers keep closing randomly. I did install pepper flash (Probably the problem?) because I was using chromium but then it kept closing. So I made firefox my default web browser and then that kept closing on me to. So I installed google chrome and that kept closing on me to now. I'm using the web browser Opera and everything is working fine. So I'm wondering how do I get the others working again. As much as I like Opera I prefer one of the Google browsers or Firefox. Would removing pepper flash fix the problem?

Re: Browsers keep randomly closing
Firefox will crash if it uses too much RAM. There's a limit, even for 64-bit versions, but I can't remember what it is. It happened to me when I had about forty tabs open once.

Launch Driver Manager. Does it offer you an fglrx driver for your video card? If so, install it and reboot.

Re: Browsers keep randomly closing
Without any relevant error message il will be difficult to diagnose. Open a terminal then launch firefox from within terminal :
Keep the terminal open and browse the web. Once firefox crash, look for messages displayed into terminal, then post output.
Code: Select all
firefox
