Ask the team leader if you may join your translation team:

Re: Editing the translation of the main menu of Cinnamon
Pjotr, I have no interest in joining the team of translators volunteers, for two reasons:
1) I preferred to review and edit multiple ".mo" translation files, using the Poedit program, to make the translation to my taste, regardless of the changes made by me be or not approved by the translators team, and I will provide these edited files to download, for anyone interested in using this custom translation, and maybe the translation team also enjoy the results of my work;
2) none of the translation files created by the team of translators contains the translation of the main Cinnamon menu.
The reason I want to edit the translation of the main menu Cinnamon is that I changed the translation of the name of multiple applications, then the name that appears in the application window became different from the name that appears on the menu.
Thank you and sorry for my english

Re: Editing the translation of the main menu of Cinnamon
OK, I see....
You can download the .po files from here:
https://translations.launchpad.net/linu ... lang/pt_BR
Then you can edit the .po file and convert it into a .mo file with Poedit.
Finally, you can put your .mo file in:
/usr/share/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES
or in:
/usr/share/linuxmint/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES
(this location can vary)
Afterwards, reboot your computer and enjoy your new translation.

Re: Editing the translation of the main menu of Cinnamon
Pjotr, as I checked and I had already informed in my previous message, none of the files that I could download through the link informed by you contains the translation of the main Cinnamon menu.
