Post by blackoutworm »

Hi there.
I can't get bluetooth working on my desktop PC.
491520 10 bnep,rfcomm

I've tried some kernels, but with no luck.
Is there a firmware deb installation out there?
Please help.

Never tested. I've only used Mint 17 on this pc.
But from the log, as yo can see, the bluetooth is recognized and should work fine.
And I've disabled UEFI from Bios, so that shouldn't be the problem either.

Post results for

Code: Select all

Now you just have the basic bluetooth stack loaded and is normal even for a computer with no bluetooth device

I know it doesn't appear on that list. But then why does this command list a bluetooth device?
chris@chris-MS-7916 ~ $ lsmod | grep bluetooth

Those are basic bluetooth drivers that every Linux distro loads whether a bluetooth chipset is found or not

If the kernel detected a bluetooth chipset you would likely see btusb and possibly a few other modules loaded depending on the chipset and kernel version
