In the Caja filebrowser (default file browser on MATE, Mint 18.1), how do I add a keyboard for "New (text) document"?
Ctrl-Shift-N is the keyboard shortcut for New Folder. I want something similar for New Text Document.

I found the answer. Simply mouse over the menu command you want to a shortcut for, and press your desired keyboard shortcut. Voila

or you could just create kb shortcut 'pluma' or 'gedit' or whatever text editor

It's a nice place for me to ask here - What is the exact command in control center > keyboard shortcuts > add custom for starting Caja. itried "Caja" - not working.

or caja path_to_file
