Re: Mint 18.1 bugs
I upgraded from 17.3 and to 18.0 and onto 18.1 while the upgrading was smooth, I live with the fear it can randomly freeze whenever it feels like. My Laptop is a Lenovo T420 with Intel graphics 3000. Maddening to have to press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. I hope 18.2 will cure the problem.

I run a T520 and an L420, intel 3000 graphics, and I've never had a freeze on either 18 or 18.1 XFCE. You don't say which DE you are running, but you should not be having these freezes under normal operation.

I also experienced some random freezing after updating to 18 and 18.1 - I fixed the issue by changing my swappiness from the default 60 to 10.
I expect it is hardware/memory related- I'm running a 2016 macbook air.

Re: Mint 18.1 bugs
I only had one very minor bug with 18.1 Cinnamon 64. That was when I tried to download the optional mint Kernal. I found it was a bad idea after rebooting and rebooting and then an unexpected reinstall. I went back to the basic LM18.1 Cinnamon 64 with the LM firmware install. No further problems!
Re: Mint 18.1 bugs
I've never had problems with any particular version of LM. Occasionally, I've had a program crash, but that's about it.
Please be polite and remember to mark your fixed problem [SOLVED].
