Is there a mint equivalent to About this computer?I have been searching everywhere in Mint Mate 16.04 for my hardware on this machine.It must be in there somewhere!Help!!

There is a program in Synaptic Package Manager called hardinfo. Install it. It will then be in your main Menu called : System Profiler & Benchmark.
It is just what you are looking for ! :)

PSS: You can also easily get your hardware info by using this terminal command: inxi -Fx

Thanks.I just saw the inxi -Fxdz in another question.Did it,it works.No need to install anything else.That gives me far more info.Just an observation here- I agree with another comment I saw,about Ask Ubuntu people having snooty attitude.Luckily,most of the advice given here also applies to Ubuntu.So there!

if you are using the Mate DE of LinuxMint,
then there is System Monitor, which does give a snapshot of the system.
- it can be installed, if you are using another DE such as Cinnamon.
( Mate-System-Monitor )

Thanks,Pierre,yhats what I was looking for,but that inxi thing is pretty cool too.Guess I'ii have to play with everything in the menu and see what happens.
