[SOLVED] A calendar for Linux?

I'm running Mint 17.3 (64-bit).

And I think I'll settle for Evolution, if I must have the Evolution back end installed anyway...
(California uses it.)
And Evolution is in the repo - like I mentioned, I already tried it once.

...or then not: I changed the time of a test-reminder and it seemed to crash.
It's open, but doesn't close ore react in any way...
Everything is grayed out.

It didn't even react to the "default kill". Had to kill it with '-9'.

Rainlendar lite seems to want 32-bit openSSL... and it failed to install it...

I installed california.
Is there a way to configure it somehow?
At the moment the calendar is light blue and I think there is some text, but it's just a bit darker blue, so I can't read it.
Actually, I'm not absolutely sure if there is some text there.
Also, is there a way to set or unset alarm for a thing?
Not too intuitive, and I think I'd like menus and checkboxes more than writing a novel, but I'll give it a try...
Feels a bit too "AI". Usually AI seems to fail with me. At least Google has a habit of guessing my intentions and needs wrong.

I understand that ReminderFox only works if the web browser is open?
In that case it won't work for me.

I think I'm pretty much left with Evolution (even if it seems to be unstable) and KOrganizer (which probably means all the KDE libraries too).
And I have to accept all kinds of integrations...

These days a user has to be careful with FF addons because they may not be compatible with Mozilla's new web extension api.

By the end of 2017, and with the release of Firefox 57, we’ll move to WebExtensions exclusively, and will stop loading any other extension types on desktop.

Another place to search is linux app finder office calendar.

I'm on lm17.3/kde. I "like" the plasma desktop, but I don't use KDE's PIM's. I'm using Thunderbird with Lighting.
