There's a good chance that there could be a broken package somewhere.
Run this command " sudo dpkg --configure -a " (no quotes)
If that does not help maybe this will:
Go to /var/cache/apt/ and delete all *.bin files there (has to be done with sudo)
I may be on the wrong track, but you will not destroy anything by doing this.

Try to change back to Edgy. Feisty is still not released, scheduled for 19 april. There may be something in feisty not supported in mintdisk, mintdesktop or mintconfig
Mint is based on Edgy.
