I would like to change the tray icon to use more bright colors, because I've set the icon to be shown only when there are update available and I want to stand out to be easily noticeable. In the Internet I've read that I should look for /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintUpdate/icons, however, there is no such folder!
I tried to find out where the tray icon is stored to replace it but couldn't find it.
Please share your ideas on how to achieve that.
edit: I'm running LM 17.2 with LXDE

Re: Change MintUpdate tray iconmint
Right click on the icon and go to Preferences.
Then look under the Icons Tab to change them
Then look under the Icons Tab to change them
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.
Re: Change MintUpdate tray iconmint
But there is no icon tab. I'm running LXDE, could that be the reason?
Re: Change MintUpdate tray iconmint
The reason is the version of Mint, which you kept as secret. In newer versions this option has been removed.
Re: Change MintUpdate tray iconmint
Oh, sorry. That was silly of me. I'm running LM 17.2 with LXDE.
Re: Change MintUpdate tray iconmint
Instead of locating and modifying the present icon, why not go into Mint Update Manager > Edit > Preferences > Icons tab, and change the icon to one of your's in your /home directory ?
Re: Change MintUpdate tray iconmint
In LM 17.2 Cinnamon the option described by all41 does exist. But LXDE is not an official desktop environment of Mint. If their makers have removed it out of a certain reason - ask them.
