[Solved] Lightdm switch user doesnt work with locked screen

When I lock the screen and click the switch user icon at the login screen nothing happens.
I then unlock the screen to see a dialog saying, "You do not seem to be logged in on the console. Starting a new login only works on the console."

Linux Mint 18.3
Cinnamon 3.6.6
lightdm 1.18.3

I cannot reproduce it.

If I lock the screen and click in the lock screen the switch user icon I get back to the login page. I can now either re-enter my first account or log in as another user. From there locking the screen again and going again from the lock screen to the login page I can again re-enter any of the accounts.

In my case it is fresh install of 18.3, not an upgraded system (in case that this should make a difference).

So an upgraded system. We will have to wait if the issue gets also reported by others, who have upgraded.

I'm an upgrader currently on 18.3 who installed LightDM moving on 18.1 to 18.2 and switch user works OK for me.

May or may not make any difference but when I installed LightDM I purged rather than removed MDM. After purging MDM you'll need to reconfigure lightDM and reboot the machine...
