Re: Computer keeps freezing
I don't know what any of this means but here are the last few postings that might have something to do with it;;

cannot map file
loaded 52262 symbols from 107 modules
initializing cgroup subsys cpuset
initializing cgroup subsys cpu
down below there are a lot of
'laptop modprobe: WARNING: not loading blacklisted module ipv6
also a lot of

deautheniticated and autheniticated
and there are a lot of other things in there too but those are the ones that come up most

Re: Computer keeps freezing
The not loading blacklisted module ipv6 is as it should be - but it should not appear in large quantities
That you get lots of that indicates en error somewhere
I've got a really bad cold now and I'm not thinking much so I'll have to come back later to you

Re: Computer keeps freezing
My cold is still blocking my thinking partly - I'll call for help here
Re: Computer keeps freezing
Have you tried running memtest to see if this might be a hardware related issue? Your hardware should work just fine with Mint. Also, have you tried running the Hard Drive manufacturers utility to test the drive for bad sectors? The issues you are describing lead me to believe there are physical problems with the hardware.
