I've tried the Linuxmint 6 XFCE CE on my laptop and Xubuntu on the same laptop... both clean installs (not dual-boots) and Linuxmint XFCE CE was faster and more complete out of the box with Java etc pre-installed.
How does Linuxmint make it faster?
Or why is Xubuntu slower?
I find Linuxmint 6 XFCE CE perfect for my needs.
