WiFi Driver is not being listed in Driver Manager
So I got a new HP Laptop that i'm trying to convert over to a Linux system. Everything worked fine, but now the wireless driver isn't being loaded from the Boot CD. And unfortunately, I don't have a wired option. Is there anything i can do?

Re: WiFi Driver is not beling listed in Driver Manager
So apparently there was a prompt to disable SmartBoot or something like that. It never came up when the installation finished. Was it supposed to?
Re: WiFi Driver is not being listed in Driver Manager
I had trouble with my Wifi after installation and doing research I was surprised to learn that drivers for my Intel card are cranked inside the Linux kernel. Not a separate file ala Windows.
Part of my solution involved hitting DEL key before boot, then disabling power saving in the hardware BIOS.
Hope that helps.
