Weak wifi signal

I'm running Mint 18.2 and can't get wifi to work the signal is very weak.
Any ideas.

I would try the following with that wifi on a HP

echo "options rtl8723be ant_sel=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/rtlant.conf
Then unload and reload the module

sudo modprobe -r rtl8723be && sleep 20 && sudo modprobe rtl8723be
Is the signal any better?

Jeremyb, i have strong signal strength. But it won't except wifi password. Any ideas.

The wireless encryption is wpa/wpa2 personal. Wpa/wpa2 enterprise is the only one available to me.
What does UFW in LM mean.

You need to change encryption on the wifi router to WPA2 only
UFW is the Linux firewall, you may have GUFW installed

Hi JeremyB, In the wireless list the 8723be PCIe adapter but not the Belkin wireless usb key. When I type the wireless password into 8723b3e it
somehow connects to the Belkin wireless usb key instead.
