Epson Stylus SX218

Hello together!

First here the facts of my system: Kernel: 3.16.0-5-amd64 x86_64 (64 bit)
Desktop: Cinnamon 3.4.6
Distro: LinuxMint 2 betsy

I use the Epson Stylus SX218 on it (via USB).
I installed all drivers here named in this thread.
MTink is not working, so that i can not checking the level indicator of the cartridges or changing the printer cartridges.
I can use the printer and the scanner. But there is no chance to choose the printer-resolution. The print quality is pathetic. Is there a chance for improvement? Thank you very much.

The old thread ( viewtopic.php?f=51&t=179252 ) can't help me.

Could everyone help me, please?

you need Turboprint; http://www.zedonet.com/en_p_turboprint_ ... tylusSX218 .. they have been providing high-quality drivers for 25 or more years. For your SX, they offer up to 5760dpi

they need to put food on the table; so for the full version they ask for a contribution; you will be very pleased with turboprint; it allows ink levels etc to be checked. the download button is on the left of the menu;

Why Mtink when Epson printers have their own utilities bundled with drivers package?

Press Alt+F2
Type epson-printer-utility and press Enter
That's it...



You can check ink levels, perform a nozzle check and head cleaning.

But this tool can't bring the printer-had in a position to change the ink-tanks. I can't believe that.

Yes, the utility has few funcionalities and can't help you to change the ink cartridges, you must use the button way (open the printer and press reset for three seconds).
