Hey,
I am a newbie to Mint and have been using Windows like forever. I decided to take a Leap Of Faith for Linux Mint after researching various distributions.
I was able to run Mint after 5 trials,2 of which crashed my PC. I have previously installed and removed Tails(I love it , though only for Privacy and Security and not for newbies.),Ubuntu(For all the hype it runs way to slow on my system, probably because of Unity.), BackSlash(I love it,though I fear less or no community support for new comers and the developer stating not to virtualise BackSlash).
I am virtualising Mint 18.3 Sylvia on Windows because I am learning Oracle and off course because of GAMESsss.
I want to learn Linux , because I believe in the idea of Open Source and the power of Community .The future should community driven and not by big corporations.(My apologies, If my views offend you, this was not my intention).

Welcome aboard, DD869! I don't think anybody here will be offended by your belief in Open Source and Community. If anybody is offended, my advice to them would be to go be offended somewhere else.

Amen!!! If someone is offended by that, then why in Hell are they using Linux to begin with?jimallyn wrote:Welcome aboard, DD869! Welcome aboard! I doubt anyone here would be offended.
