Cant log in to my admin account stuck on Guest session HELP

I recently changed drivers to play cs go on linux mint 18.3 sylvia after that i couldn't log in to my main profile account which is the admin account i think i changed to NVIDIA driver to the recommend one i want to change it back to the default driver but im stuck on the guest session and it says Running on software rendering mode. I cant even type the wifi password to use it or even have access to the Administration Driver manager. Please help.

Reboot the computer and select advanced options from the grub menu then recovery mode.

When the recovery mode menu appears choose drop to root shell.

In the root shell enter dpkg -l|grep nvidia

Check the results for any package name containing nvidia, except for nvidia-prime-applet, and purge them with apt purge package_name

The first command didnt work it says unknown option -1 and 5 other line that says type dpkg for help and stuff

The -l in dpkg -l is a lower case L

Ok then the 4 nvida lines showed up how do i purge them and not prime applet??

Ok i entered the first command and the nvidia packages showed up i typed in the second command to purge them and didnt work just an error i did "apt purge package_name"

Replace package with the actual name of the package.

Do you know the package name? Im having trouble sending a picture. I have four of them and the word nvidia colored in red idk how to exactly type the command

What will happen if i remove the nvdia prime applet with this command sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-* to purge everything with the name nvidia

Then just apt-get purge nvidia*

Then apt install nvidia-prime-applet to reinstall it.

Try mount -o remount,rw / first - it might be mounted read only

Ok uninstalled all of them tried to reinstall prime and says unable tp fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing? But i think it did reinstall it also says 1 newly installed. Need to get 30.3 kb of archives after this operation 60.4 kb of additional disk space will be used

I couldnt reinstall the nvidia prime any other solutions?

well i deleted them and i still cant log in how do i change it back to its original source driver? any command to make a new user?? also i rather just uninstall and delete everything to start all over but i cant figure out how...

You can try to add a new user with adduser username, but the graphics driver is system wide.

Also it's difficult working in an environment where you can't copy/paste code and results so it might be better working booted to the live media.
