WiFi and Bluetooth drivers
Hey guys,
I hope everyone is doing well. So we are currently in the process of moving towards Linux Mint. I am currently struggling installing the WiFi drivers for Linux Mint XFCE. The wired connection works perfectly but the WiFi and scanning features are not working, i tried running commands in the terminal that i have found on this forum and none seem to work. Also the Bluetooth functionality is not working. I know my current WiFi card in the device is supported by Linux because i previously ran Ubuntu 16.4 on the device and the WiFi feature worked. Please help Urgent!

Re: WiFi and Bluetooth drivers
Go into Mint Update Manager, click View/Linux Kernels, then click 4.13 and choose the newest 4.13 kernel to install, reboot
Then see if anything new is in
If it worked in Ubuntu it should be able to work in Mint. Hardware is supported on the kernel
Then see if anything new is in
Code: Select all
dmesg | egrep -i 'sdio|brcm|firm'

Re: WiFi and Bluetooth drivers
You need to install a newer kernel using Mint Update, View/Linux kernels to have any chance of wifi working unless you want to wait for Linux Mint 19
The Mint Update Manager main windows doesn't normally inform about newer kernels
