.iso testing team?

Post by 7im4pple »

How does one become a member of the .iso testing team. I don't code, but can do an install. My distro hopping addiction makes me pretty suited to it for that matter. I'm 7im4pple on community portal also. if that is all that is needed.

Thanks

You don't need to do anything except keep an eye on https://blog.linuxmint.com/. The beta release of the ISOs will be announced there and we're always happy to have new users join there with other enthusiasts and early adopters to help test the ISOs before the final release! Share your feedback on the blog post so that all observations are in one place for the developers to work on.

The QA testing team on the community website, to which you referred, do a defined set of tests on each ISO before it is approved for beta release. The "does it have all 4 wheels on it" basic checks and not the "do the wheels wobble under certain conditions" tests or "what do we think of the new wheel design" feedback. If you click on one of the ISOs on https://community.linuxmint.com/iso you can see the test cases. The QA testing team is made up of developers and passionate Linux Mint users. Perhaps that was all already clear to you; just sharing it for clarity to everybody.

I have partitions ready for the betas. Looks like regular Mint releases coming before LMDE. Anyone have an idea when LMDE might be coming?

All you have to do is dl and install the RC and know how to file a bug report. Remember, in the world of open source suftware we're ALL beta tresters.
