PDF problems [SOLVED]

Post by Black Swordsman » Sat Jun 09, 2018 8:37 am

I have recently tried to download a character sheet pdf from https://www.dndbeyond.com that would allow me to print off my character sheet but when I try to open the pdf file using document viewer I receive the error

Code: Select all

Unable to open document
File type HTML document {text/html} is not supported
and when I try to open the pdf file using Foxit Reader I receive the error

Code: Select all

Format Error: Not a PDF or corrupted.
Any ideas as to what I can do to fix this problem?

Looks like I can't download the pdf sheet without an account.
In Linux Mint MATE Atril will read pdf files. You can also download Adobe Reader for Linux.
It could be that the downloaded pdf is corrupted and unreadable.

I suspect the file is not a PDF - Document Viewer suggests it is html. Have you tried opening the file in a web browser? What does the file command identify it as?

maybe someone put wrong file ending on it? Change ending to html and try opening in Firefox again.
All things go better with Mint. Mint julep, mint jelly, mint gum, candy mints, pillow mints, peppermint, chocolate mints, spearmint,....

I know that it is supposed to be a pdf...when I was still using windows I was able to download the pdf and view/print the pdf if I so chose...so I dont know if there might be something wrong with the encoding of the file that makes it not work for Linux or something

Ok...so I ended up trying to download the pdf using google chrome and didnt have any problems opening up the pdf. So it makes me wonder if maybe the file ended up becoming corrupted when I tried to download it using firefox due to the uGet integration that I have on it
