Lately I had a concern with a "killed" USB device. After different gparted actions I can't see any Icon popping up on the desktop or the nautilus opening now.
lsblk displays the inserted device and a manual mount grants access to the device.
My question is: how to get the Icons back and an automatic start of a file manager?
thx a lot

You have not indicated which Mint desktop you are using in either post.
