hi guys im running 18.3 sylvia 64 bit and when i click on the software manager icon in the menu nothing happens.
ive tried running gksu mintinstall& in the terminal but it just comes up with this
The software manager should not be run as root. Please run it in user mode.
im not sure what that means. can anyone help

It means that you should try leaving off the 'gksu' part, because that's what that does: it's for running a program as root. So try just running the normal command:
mintinstall
and see what error messages you get.If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!

I had the same problem made a post here viewtopic.php?f=90&t=269393&p=1469283#p1469283 about it but no ones come up with a solution yet, maybe you will have more luck..have to say it hasn’t been too much of an issue so far.I can boot a live session with a usb stick and the software manager loads no problem , so its easy enough to browse what’s on offer and then see if you can get what you want by another method.
