if only...
To be sure that I will not run into problems, I have installed a VirtualBox with Linux Mint Cinnamon 19. I get the same message in my top right corner and when I perform this:
I get the response it is already installed. After reboot the same message is shown.
Now to avoid problems and knowing AMD/ATI GPUs are not really compatible (in my case: Radeon HD 4650, yes, I know it is ancient), I decided to buy a new graphics card. I can pick it up in the store tomorrow, but would like to run it by you guys before I install it. It is the
Gigabyte GeForce GT 1030 Low Profile 2G. Now I know that nVidia's support is a lot better than AMD's, so I think I should be better off.
I'm just wondering:
Should I upgrade to a more advanced GPU?
What I use my pc (Acer Aspire M7720, 10GB Ram, year: 2009) for is graphic and web design (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator (all on Windows in VirtualBox) InkScape, Node-JS, Firefox, FileZilla, etc.); I don't play any games, but like to watch a video from time to time and these can be 1920x1080 resolution.
Can any one give some advice? Please, elaborate and tell me why you give the advice that you do!
Thanx a lot,
Thomsterdam
