Start the name suggestions for Mint 8

Post by Old Marcus »

So, now the RC of Gloria is out, we ought not to waste any time in suggesting some of the silliest names for Mint 8. :P

For Mint 8, they will begin with 'H'.

Mine: Hannah

Mush.
Linux Mint 8 RC1 = Nice
'apt install' can be used on Linux Mint as a shortcut for 'sudo apt-get install'. 'apt x' can be used for various other apt commands as well.

I've previously suggested Hellena. I think they should end with an 'a', as it certainly has precedent, though I don't know it it's a requirement.

We're going for names with 'H'. Already on the 'G' :P

Here's what I got:

Halawa
Haldana
Halena (I particularly like this one. But sounds too much like Calena)
Halma (I like this one too, reminds me of Salma Hayek....yum!)
Hanna
Haiba
Hypatia

Plus one for "Helena." Not sure of the exact spelling, though.

I see no reasons for a name. Mint 8 is very easy to remember. What is wrong with keeping things simple?

one more for Hannah, Hanna, Hana
for linux to be successful on the desktop for normal users, normal users have to feel comfortable with it.
The interesting users are your mother, your neighbor. Those are the people that will decide whether or not linux is accepted on the desktop.
