I have a bad linux experience with my girlfriend's laptop and its devilish AMD graphic card. This Asus laptop mounts an AMD Radeon HD 6320.
Code: Select all
$ lspci | grep VGA
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Wrestler [Radeon HD 6320]
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Seymour [Radeon HD 6400M/7400M Series]
Now I installed it, but I preventively added "nomodeset" into kernel parameters (editing /etc/default/grub) because otherwise LinuxMint doesn't start.
I ask LinuxMint's community to help me in the installation of the right VGA drivers for my situation, so I can give to my girlfriend a fully operable Linux Mint installation, with a high resolution screen and decent graphic performances. Right now, the distro is freshly installed (I installed it 2 hours ago using LinuxMint "Tara" - MATE (64 bit) iso).
I didn't install or update any package yet, didn't modify anything except that line in /etc/default/grub.
