[SOLVED]Onbord sound card and Blue Yeti pro, loses settings after reboot

Hi.

I'm running Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon 64 bit, but I have some problems with my sound.

Some info:

- I have an Onboard soundcard
- I have Blue yeti pro microphone.
- I have installed PulseAudio Volume Control

Problem

Efter I have set default sound output, all works fine, but after a reboot mint set my default soundcard to the Blue Yeti... Then i will have to right click on the sound icon, and switch it back to the onboard card

In other words, It will not let me set my onboard soundcard as default and after a reboot, its back to the blue yeti mic.

What have I try?

- Installed: PulseAudio Volume Control
- "sudo alsactl store 0"

Hope someone can help me out here...

Hi Taxick.

This might work. On the Output Devices tab of pavucontrol, uncheck the checkmark next to the Yeti. If that doesn't work, read below.

EDIT: All the typing below, and this is probably better.

Try this instead of alsactl. In the terminal, type cat /proc/asound/cards to find your cards. Here's a look at mine:

In my case, the onboard sound card is #2. If I had something else always being the default after boot, I could change it by typing the following in the terminal:
sudo touch /etc/asound.conf
xed admin:///etc/asound.conf
This opens a new file /etc/asound.conf for editing. Add these two lines:

defaults.pcm.card 2
defaults.ctl.card 2
You need to use the card number for your sound card that you hopefully found with "cat /proc/asound/cards" where I used the number 2. Save the file and reboot (log out/in may be enough.)

Thanks for trying to help me! I'm sorry, but im sorry it doesn't work as expected :(

I ran the command, I get this output:

After a reboot, my pc still selected my blue yeti as default.

(I have not moved to the selected one)

When I booted mint, the welcome sound comes from the right speaker, but all my programs still use USB-Audio - BLUE USB Audio 2.0 as default.

If I go to the "sound" and then select (See picture above) "Line Out - Built-in Audio" it all works fine, but I have to do it manually any time my pc boot.

Any ideas???

Then i edit this file: sudo nano /etc/pulse/default.pa

and change these to:

But i dont seams to work :( Maybe im doing it wrong??

Comment out those lines again (put a # in front of them) then save and reboot. Change your sound settings to how you like, then run pacmd list-sinks and paste the output back here. We should have you fixed in just a few more minutes.

EDIT... Forgot to select the drive I want to use... Now I have done, but output is the same?!?

Did you try removing the checkmark next to the Yeti on the Output Devices tab?

Did you try removing the checkmark next to the Yeti on the Output Devices tab?
Did you mean in the "PulseAudio Volume Control"

Before I forget, you should probably delete /etc/asound.conf unless it wasn't empty when you made that first change, in which case, delete the changes you made.

Now, let's make the last section of default.pa look like this:

The checkmark removal might fix the issue, but I'm pretty certain the change to default.pa will accomplish what you want. Reboot and test.

Hi.

I deleted the file: /etc/asound.conf

But now there is no sound icon right bottom corner, and there is no sound at all

Weird. Try apt install --reinstall indicator-sound indicator-sound-gtk2

I think the first pic is showing sound is muted.
