LibreOffice 6 not working in mint 19 Cinnamon

Hi everyone, if i start LibreOffice in my Mint 19.0 Cinnamon it crashes instantly.
A screen pops up to restore files and if I click on the ok button the same screen keeps popping up again and again.
The only thing I can do is close those screens.
A complete uninstall and reinstall did not solve the problem.
I did a search on the web but could not find a solution or someone who has a similar problem.
Any help to get LibreOffice working in my Mint 19.0 Cinnamon is more then welcome

I think the LO itself is bugged cuz I had similar issues with it in 18.3. So I uninstalled it and switched to Softmaker's FreeOffice 2018 for Linux (natively supported). No problems there ever since.

Make sure libreoffice isn't running. Then rename ~/.config/libreoffice to anything else and start libreoffice. If it works, it's possible something got corrupted in ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user.

I had to remove LO6 and go back to LO5, the bugs in 6 just drive me insane.

I have been running LO 6.0.2, 6.0.3, 6.0.4, 6.0.5 and now 6.0.6 under Linux Mint Mate 18.3 without any crash so far. I have installed the corresponding DEB packages directly from the LO website https://www.libreoffice.org.

Have you reported the problems you encountered on LO Bugzilla https://bugs.documentfoundation.org? This will give you the chance to have your problems identified and solved.

Hi guys thanks so far:
@aes2011 I renamed the folder like you sugested. Now I have two screens. 1 the main screen of LO and 2 the same error message.
@trytip: if I start LO in a terminal I get the same error message and LO crashes directly.
@Tom739: I'll sure report those problems on LO Bugzilla https://bugs.documentfoundation.org. Just like you I tried to install the corresponding DEB packages directly from the LO website but the result is the same.

Hello everyone, I roled back to LO 5.4.7.2 and this works fine.
So I'll wait at least 6 months to install LO 6 again.

interestingly, I've had zero issue with LO 6,,
but then I'm primarily just using the Writer & not the spreadsheet or anything else.


BTW: if you did remove LO 6, then you would have to use the "completely remove" option in synaptic,
plus Manually Remove any extra system files, yourself:
- and then attempt an Clean Installation of LO 6 & see if there is any difference.

I've just done a clean install of Cinnamon 18.3 and installed LibreOffice 6 and so far no problems...but I downloaded it from their web site.

Is your Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon installation a fresh install or an update from an earlier version? I have just installed Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon on new hardware and LibreOffice 6 is running fine.

Just curious since LO uses java, uninstall java 10 and fall back to vers 8 then try.
