logitech clearchat wireless usb headset

hello all,

im very new to mint, "somewhat" moved from ubuntu jaunty. as the title states, im having probs with this headset.
the strange thing is, it worked perfectly with ibex, and jaunty, so i made the assumption it would work well with mint.
well, as usual, i was wrong on this instance. im a heavy skype user,
and this problem is the only thing from preventing me form using mint as my main os.

the headset shows up in dmesg, but nothing in alsamixer, or sound prefs.

This indicates USB 1 ?
Try all the different USB connectors on your PC
Right now that's what I can think of
You have tried Alsa mixer - what about settings in Skype
