Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
Wouldn't it be better to keep the qt version of the network manager?
The kubuntu 8.1 manager?

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
Sweet! I think that Mint 7 KDE will be the best ever Linux distro shipping with KDE 4. I assume that it will be released with KDE 4.2.3, right? Hopefully the upgrade to KDE 4.3 will be smooth. As I surf around the Web, I am always praising Mint and leaving links to this website. Canonical should just drop Kubuntu already and replace it with Mint KDE.Boo wrote:I just uploaded an iso for testing by exploder and other devs.

Really excited about this. Any update on the release date?!?
Seriously considering downloading Mint 6 KDE while I wait.

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
The more interesting question is what system requirements would be needed for comfortable work. I've got Athlon XP 1700 768RAM ATI 9500 Pro and Mint 5 works smoothly. However still is less responsive and stable than my "pimped" WinXP and i wondering that KDE 4 in Mint 7 willl make the situation worse. Do i have to worry?

doman18,
ATI has dropped support for ALL older Vid cards.

Suggestion: Try the Live CD first!!!

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
I have just uploade dev 044 for testing.
though we keep coming up with new ideas.
hopefully all tests will be ok and it will be the RC.
It has a Mint Dew KDE theme all through, apart from usplash which no one wants to fix upstream.

This is soooo ... outrageous! I didnt favor any of graphic cards even i have known that ATI's Crossfire is better than SLI. But now I consider only NVIDIA as main graphic for desktop.ATI has dropped support for ALL older Vid cards.
BTW, is it true that Dolphin is main manager in KDE 4? If its true i would be veeeeery happy

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
Any chance we can keep the green theme in as an optional extra? I hate blue, like, really hate it. It's depressing. Looking around my room all I can see that's blue is a bottle of roll-on deodorant and noticing that I'm about to put it in a drawer. Blue sucks.
Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
hey boo, just wondering if you saw my ksplash and kdm theme?

Also the ksysinfo is working now.
Just a few things that could be added.
Let me know if I can help. Thanks!

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
I second that - I won't go as far as saying I hate blue, but I definitely prefer green...Twinnie wrote:Any chance we can keep the green theme in as an optional extra?

I don't have a solution, but I do admire the problem.
Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
Greaaat! I'm using Kubuntu Jaunty and its very fast and looks awesme, so I can only expect more from Mint's version. Amarok 2.1 looks awesome as well, with new features and polished looks.
Cheers.

Cheers.

Re: Gloria KDE CE. When?
The KDE CE uses blue, it looks awesome by the way! You can customize the artwork to your taste if you prefer the green. I have completed testing the development iso, there were two small bugs but I approved the iso because I think the bugs are upstream issues. Clem will have to test out the iso and make the decision weather or not to release this to the public. Boo has made huge improvements to the Kubuntu base! KDE 4.2.4 is quick and resolves many issues found in the original Kubuntu base. Boo's decision to go with the Gnome Network Manager puts the release on par with some of the best KDE 4 releases out there. We will have to wait and see what Clem decides. Hang in there!

Great News!
KDE 4.2.4 + amarok v 2;1 - Great!
I will love the BLUE color for Mint KDE CE 7 Gloria.
A sky of blue is so nice like a sea of green.
Thanks
