Hi there,
After a relative lifetime of being a Mac user (nice kit, lasts well, doesn't break too often and you get your moneys worth because it lasts) I got some spare PC parts from my son who had upgraded his gaming rig, acquired a few more bits and pieces and built myself a Linux box - running Mint 19.1.
I dabbled with Mint a few years ago, dipped my toe in the water but never had time to become fully committed as it were.
Now with retirement approaching, I thought that I would stretch my brain a bit and take the plunge. Thanks already to various contributors on the forum who have provided a beacon to show the way forward.

Welcome aboard, the Skye. If you like Mac, then there are mac like interfaces in the libraries if you so desire. I can offer no more on this subject as I have no desire to change my theme.

Hi Skye,
it seems that this is a common occurrence. Like myself I have know about Linux for years and through a dislike of the other OS out there tried Linux but was too busy to sit down and seriously work with it. Years later near retirement with extra time on our hands, have rediscovered the wonders of the OS and here we are.
