Hi everyone. Just switched from Windows 10 to Mint on my second laptop, I'm having fun playing with it so far. I'm amazed at how lightweight the os is! Memory usage is down from 3GB to 890MB! Looks like everyone here is helpful to newbies, I'll need a lot of it as I try to learn everything!

Thanks everyone! I'll have to look at the users guide, I'm sure it'll help me out. I never realized how many games should actually work using steam play! Who knows, I may even switch my gaming rig eventually.

Welcome to Linux Mint and the Mint forums, DJF113! Microsoft's operating system and applications are filled with bloatware, spyware, and so on that just bog down your system. Linux doesn't have any of that stuff. Hence, much lighter, and usually faster, than Windows. I have installed Linux on older Windows computers that people had given up on, and almost without exception they say, "Wow, this is faster than it ever was, even when it was brand new!"
