KeePassX - synch with android phone

Post by 52ROSt » Sun Apr 07, 2019 4:42 pm

Linux Mint 17.3 KDE, 64 bit

I am using happily KeePassX 2.0.2 and would like to synch my passwords with an password application on my android 7.1.1 phone via our own NextCloud.

How can this be enabled?

What android app is needed?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I use KeepassXC on Mint, and Keepass2 Android Offline on my phone. I have never synced them, I just copied the .kbdx file from the computer to the phone by way of USB. But then that's just the way I work: I never bother to figure out all that stuff that's supposed to make my life easier. I did a bit of researching before deciding on KeepassXC, and it seems to be the most recommended, as some of the others haven't been updated recently. The latest version of KeepassX is from 2016, and KeepassXC was started because there are no recent updates for KeepassX (and others). They both use the .kbdx file format, so if you switch, your database will still work. I don't see any sync function in KeepassXC.

I have KeepassX on my desktop, laptop, phone & tablet.
They all connect to the same KeyPass database in DropBox.
You have to be disciplined in shutting the database down after using but, other than that, no issues.

I guess that you would just load your database up onto your own cloud...
